basement community anniversary and charity event
basement community turns 3 this week on December 3rd!
Running this site has definitely been one of the highlights of the last 3 years of my life. I figured it's about time to use the platform to do a little bit of good, so we're running a charity event.
We're supporting Doctors Without Borders. You can find the details of the charity event over on the site here (https://basementcommunity.com/threads/589), but to sum up the instructions, users will need to:
- Donate using the "donate" button on the Doctors Without Borders website
- Post a screenshot in the basement community thread of the receipt you get in your email
If users post proof of their donation to the charity, then their account will be granted this commemorative heart icon that they can choose to have appear next to their username on each of their posts:
Even if you don't want to make an account on the forums, feel free to send a donation anyway! They are triple-matching donations on December 2nd (Giving Tuesday). You don't have to tell me, it's your own damn business (but also you can email me if you want)!
