failed attempt at supporting a small business

The other week, I was unscrewing the lint trap out of my drier because I left my credit card in my pants and it fell deep into the hole, so I couldn't reach it without taking the whole-ass lint trap out and sticking my hand down to grab it. When I was screwing the trap back on, I noticed one of the screws I took out was stripped during the process.

So now I need to get down to a hardware store. To get a single damn replacement screw. At first I thought to go to Home Depot, but on second thought, I thought it would be better to support some local store and get my screws there. I wouldn't be spending a significant amount of cash, but it's the thought that counts right?

When I got down to my local store, I looked around the aisles for a good 10 minutes until I found some variety packs of screws, but none of the packs looked to match the screw I needed, which prompted me to ask an employee for help. I showed him my screw that I needed replaced. But first I decided that I would just drop the screw on the floor like an idiot and look around on the ground trying to find it for 5 minutes, while the guy patiently stared at me.

"This looks like a sheet metal screw," he said. I thought, "okay man that means absolutely nothing to me, what are you trying to say?" He ended up telling me that the store doesn't sell those type of screws and I should try Home Depot.

So off to Home Depot I went and eventually found the screw I needed. What a complete waste of time.
